Bargello is a type of quilt made from strips of fabric of various colors and designs and sizes. You sew them together into a striped piece. Then you cut this piece into strips the other direction to make strips of little squares. Then you sew these back together, but you offset the strips to make a design. I used fabric that looked like rocks, water, earth, grass, flowers, trees and sun so that my ending design looked like a mountain scene. 

This piece is inspired by the fun and color and beautiful designs in nature; a nice distraction from “normal life.” Sometimes I need that; a day just for fun and beauty.
