This yellow rose is made up of many many little pieces of fabric and a lot of thread.  I could have used bigger pieces of each color and probably saved myself a lot of time.  But the different fabrics give the rose bud more color variations than I would have had with bigger pieces.  Close up, it looks kind of messy, so I encourage viewing it from a little distance! From just a step or two away, the colors merge into petals and shadows. 

Sometimes I get caught up in the little irritations; things that make life seem messy.  I get overwhelmed with trying to clean up all the messes.  But I think that my mistakes and limitations actually add color and interest to my life.  Some of my best stories are of things that did not go well.  So, today I’m going to step back and look at my life from a little distance; to try to get past the messy bits and recognize the beauty that all those pieces create.
