A little color always helps my mood.

Colorful Homage to Gaudi – 17″ x 20″ $200

My art quilt group challenged us to make a piece inspired by a famous artist.  I chose Antoni Gaudi, the designer of all those weird buildings in Barcelona, Spain.  Buildings really aren’t my forte, but I REALLY like Gaudi’s work.  I found brown mottled fabric that reminds me of stone.  I sewed some of Gaudi’s designs with black thread.  Then I cut out the stone fabric to reveal the colored fabric beneath so it resembles tiles.  The design is kind of building-ish and kind of Gaudi-ish and kind of Joy-ish.  A bit of color to brighten the mood.  Happy March.
