Quilts are made of 3 layers; a top, a layer of batting, and a back. The three layers are sewn together with “quilting”, stitching that goes through all 3 layers. Art quilts are small quilts intended to be hung on the wall. Each of these has a finished edge and a 4″ hanging sleeve on the back.
