I created this piece by putting a multi-colored fabric under the dark fabric, sewing designs, and then cutting out the centers to reveal the color underneath. It’s fun to make because I never really know what it will look like until I’m done. It isn’t always what I was expecting (or hoping for). But as I work, the darkness seems to fade away as the fun and beauty emerge – kind of what we hope for in life!
